Nick Clegg Campaigning to Labour Supporters

Nick Clegg is addressing a large number of Students at Leicester University.
The Nick Clegg feted by the media and praised as the New Obama rarely gets any applause in his speech. In fact the students are plainly laughing at him with some boldly displaying banners reading Vote Labour right before him. You would think he is for the Labour Party as the Vote Labour banners were the main Party banners visible. Only one banner reading I agree with Nick.
Why is the BBC not telling the world that Nick is been jeered at here?

Unlike you, I was at the event. I know you weren't there because you have named the wrong university. There wasn't any jeering - just some questions and answers and a speech. It was all a bit old-fashioned - real campaigning with students who hadn't all decided how to vote. Nobody worried about a range of posters and Nick Clegg was clapped. He also answered one-to-one questions.

I'm not a member of any party and I was there out of curiosity because I was nearby - I came across your blog when searching the web for pictures, comments, etc. on the event I attended.

I can see why you would have thought from the banners there was opposition to Nick Clegg but there were only two or three Labour posters. It made a nice picture but it was all very good-humoured. I was pleased to see an event that wasn't run by spin-doctors.

(I deleted my previous post because I wished to make a minor amendment)

I now understand that the rally was at Leicester De Montfort University. I originally did not notice it was not Leicester University.
I may have misread the name of the University, but I certainly saw Labour Banners very close to him!.
For the avoidance of doubt, I do not support the Labour Party. In fact, I am more likely to support the Conservatives than the Labour Party.
I merely noted what I saw this morning on tTV.

The Labour supporters chose a good spot and it was a great photo op for the press. If you want to see what it was like, you might like to look at the youtube videos that various people have uploaded - they show how crowded it was as well as the balance of cheers, applause, interest and occasional heckles. I think the press were misleading in showing the Labour posters as background since I doubt there were more than three or four, so you were right to question whether you saw the whole story. I couldn't resist including my favourite student posters on my blog - they simply invite Nick Clegg to come for a pint. (That's more the sort of response he received from the students.)

I agree that it's hard to decide how to vote in this election.
